Message	You have a point that the computer can shift faster, but the auto is not as efficient as the 5 speed and has fewer gears. On a NA car, I'd say the 5 speed is faster. On a turbo car, I think keeping the boost level high is very important, and although the tranny isn't as efficient it more than makes up for it by enabling you to stay on the gas, so the auto is faster on a turbo car.
